Avon Names New Senior VP

The new head of global strategy will be key to the company's turnaround.

Avon Products has named Brian Salsberg as Senior Vice President, Global Strategy, effective September 23, 2013. Salsberg will report to Sheri McCoy, CEO, Avon. He will also join the company’s

Salsberg will be responsible for helping to define and develop Avon’s global strategy for growth. He will work in close partnership with McCoy and the senior leadership team to build the company’s capabilities across strategy, market stabilization, innovation and growth.

Salsberg will also join Avon’s Executive Committe, and work to expand the company’s capabilities on key issues – including the business model of the future and optimal geographic footprint.

McCoy commented, “As we continue our work of turning Avon around, Brian will play a key role in helping to optimize our growth strategy. Brian’s experience developing and leading innovation strategies with blue-chip global consumer companies in Asia and around the world will make him a great asset, and I am pleased to welcome him to the team.”

Prior, Salsberg was a partner at McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he served as a co-leader of the firm’s consumer and retail practice in Asia. In that role, he advised Asia-based multinational corporations as well as international companies with Asia central to their strategy.
